Lambda Chi Alpha is a values-based organization with an emphasis on seven cardinal virtues: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Service & Stewardship, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.
Being a member of a fraternity prepares undergraduates for further responsibilities in their post-graduate life. The skill sets learned during this time puts us in a class unto ourselves. Nationally, 71% of Greeks graduate in four years, compared with 50% of non-Greeks. Eighty-five percent of the U.S. Supreme Court Justices have been Greek. Forty-three of the 50 largest corporations are led by Greeks. Every U.S. President and Vice President, except two in each office, born since the first social fraternity was founded in 1825 have been members of a fraternity. Eighty-five percent of student leaders on 730 campuses are Greek.
Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity is one of the largest Greek organizations in North America with more than 270,000 initiated members and is present on 195 college and university campuses in the United States and Canada. Lambda Chi Alpha has set itself apart from other social Greek organizations by abolishing the term “pledge” and replacing it with “Associate Member” for our new members. In doing this we have banned hazing and allowed our Associate Members to have the same rights as an initiated member. The Fraternity also annually holds, the North American Food Drive which is the largest single day philanthropy event in the Greek community. Along with community service opportunities, the fraternity offers many outlets for development through our officer programs, local Ferris and geographic alumni organizations, as well as international leadership seminars.
On a local level, our chapter is the longest continuously-operating Lambda Chi Alpha chapter in the State of Michigan and operates with high expectations, proven by winning prestigious awards from our Office of Administration both in 2019 and 2020.
